 Kia Ora Kākano whānau

We hope you have had a safe weekend in this stormy weather! It was so great to have all of the children start back at school this week. We had an awesome week getting to know the new classes. 


Thank you for all of your support with the covid protocols during this first week. Most of the children have settled in well and come in happily in the morning to complete their morning routines. It is awesome to see them being independent already and being able to say bye to parents at the gate! 


Last week we had a week of getting to know everyone. All the children loved being in the pool. We also did art, baking, literacy, and lots of playing together.







Swimming

We are swimming this week, please bring your togs every day. 


Recycling

There is a creating station in Kākano where the children are able to use the hot glue guns to make new things. If you have any spare recyclable items that we could use please bring these to school for us to use! Anything like empty cereal boxes, egg cartons, empty plastic bottles, and lids.


Plastic Vegetable bags

We are in need of plastic bags from your fruit and vegetables at the supermarket. If you have any at home that is spare can we please have them at school. This is an ongoing need so if you can collect them and give them to your child.


School Mass

Our opening school mass is scheduled for this Friday. Weather permitting we will be holding this outside. Unfortunately due to covid restrictions we aren’t able to have families attend this.


Week ahead:

Monday - normal school day

Tuesday - normal school day

Wednesday - normal school day

Thursday - normal school day

Friday - sausage sizzle and juicy day $1.50 each


Note: library is still closed this week.

Midweek update

 This week has gone so quickly with lots of excitement around the show. Today for the show tonight please have the children back between 5:30 and 6pm.  Please pick them up from Kakano any time after 7:15pm and before 7:30pm. Tomorrow for golden time the children could not decide on a PJ party, teddy bears picnic or hot chips, so we have decided to do all 3. The children can bring a teddy and their pajamas in their school bag (we will get changed after morning tea). Can they also bring a gold coin to go towards the hot chips.  They can also still order sausage sizzle and juicy or bring more lunch.  Have a wonderful holidays and enjoy your family time. Welcome to Kakano 6 for 2022 This blog will be your one-stop shop for weekly notices and class information.  I will also share what happened during the week in class with you through the week.  I always aim to have the weekly information blog published by 3pm on a Sunday.  It is essential to check this weekly.   Kia ora whānau, Hope you are all enjoying your weekend and made the most of the fine weather when it was here! Thank you all for making the time to come to the 3 way conferences. It is always great to catch up with you all. Fun Netball for Kākano children We have a lovely volunteer who is keen to share her skills and knowledge of Netball with our tamariki.  Every Tuesday there will be “Fun Netball” for all children who wish to participate on the Turf at lunchtime (weather permitting). Collage Materials Thankyou to those who have recycled boxes, bottle caps, yoghurt containers and brought them to school.  We still need more of these items as the children love creating with them.
