Thursday morning tea we ate plain bread and water. We talked about how some children don’t get the yummy food we do. We have discussed that Caritas helps children around the world especially those in need.
It is hard to believe we are now in the last few weeks of school. As always, we have a lots going on this week, please read through the notices to make sure you know what is happening each day. Monday: Junior school Big Day In Your child needs their swimming togs, a named water gun, sunhat and your $5 for lunch if not already paid. All junior children can wear home clothes to school for our Fun day. Tuesday: Junior Tryathlon; 11:15 What to bring: bike/scooter, helmet, sneakers, togs. If Parents are available to help please contact your child's teacher. Wednesday / Thursday Normal school days. Friday: Year 0-2 Assembly; 2:05 Our children will be hosting our final school Assembly. Our Year 2 children will be organising the assembly with the support of our Year 0 and 1 children. Some children will be bring home ‘words’ that they will be saying at our assembly. Thanks so much to all our Parents, Caregivers and students who came to our 3-way Conferences this week. It was great to catch up with you all and discuss your childs progress and next steps. School Photos On Monday morning we have our school photos. Our classes are up first so there will be little chance to get dirty. We will make sure all our tamariki are looking just right for the photos. Boys are to have their woollen jerseys on and girls are to wear their skivvy and tunic with long hair tied back. Please can you ensure your child’s jerseys are named too, in case they take them off! Teacher Only Day Tuesday 7th June is a Teacher Only Day. The Teachers at St Mary’s will be joining John Paul College for this day’s focus of ‘Matariki’. There will be no school for children on this day. End of year FUN DAY To our wonderful whanau, Next Monday the 5th of December, the Year 0, 1, 2, 3’s will be having an end of year fun day at school. We will be having some fun outdoor activities, some water play, and Christmas crafts. We will also be having an organised lunch together. Outdoor Activities We will have a camp-like setting for these. Activities include hut making, campfire, roasting marshmallows, burma trail. Water Play Pool and slip and slide Lunch Kakano 2 and 6 will be sharing their lunch together. We will have hot chips, sausage rolls, sausages, ice blocks, and treats for the Christmas crafts. Please bring $5 each. What to bring Children can come to school in mufti on this day. Swimming gear - togs and towels. School sun hat. Water bottle. A small morning tea to eat. Money for our lunch.
