Another busy week

 I can’t believe we have already been back for 2 weeks. The children have all settled back into their learning well. 

Please remember to spend some time doing your child’s literacy homework with them, it doesn’t need to be long about 10-15 minutes. Another great thing to do is read a story to them each night.


This week we looked at measurement for maths. We started by making predictions on who is the tallest and shortest in class, the children then needed to work out where they fitted from tallest to shortest. They had some great discussions about the height of different friends.

Midweek update

 This week has gone so quickly with lots of excitement around the show. Today for the show tonight please have the children back between 5:30 and 6pm.  Please pick them up from Kakano any time after 7:15pm and before 7:30pm. Tomorrow for golden time the children could not decide on a PJ party, teddy bears picnic or hot chips, so we have decided to do all 3. The children can bring a teddy and their pajamas in their school bag (we will get changed after morning tea). Can they also bring a gold coin to go towards the hot chips.  They can also still order sausage sizzle and juicy or bring more lunch.  Have a wonderful holidays and enjoy your family time. Welcome to Kakano 6 for 2022 This blog will be your one-stop shop for weekly notices and class information.  I will also share what happened during the week in class with you through the week.  I always aim to have the weekly information blog published by 3pm on a Sunday.  It is essential to check this weekly.   Kia ora whānau, Hope you are all enjoying your weekend and made the most of the fine weather when it was here! Thank you all for making the time to come to the 3 way conferences. It is always great to catch up with you all. Fun Netball for Kākano children We have a lovely volunteer who is keen to share her skills and knowledge of Netball with our tamariki.  Every Tuesday there will be “Fun Netball” for all children who wish to participate on the Turf at lunchtime (weather permitting). Collage Materials Thankyou to those who have recycled boxes, bottle caps, yoghurt containers and brought them to school.  We still need more of these items as the children love creating with them.
