For Golden Time the children had voted to make s’mores. They put chocolate and marshmallows on their biscuit, then into the oven to make them warm and gooey.
In our class, we spend time learning to read and write the alphabet letters. I have been so impressed with the way the children persevere to correctly write all letters. We are having fun learning the sounds the letters make and have even started putting letters together to read and write words. It is hard to believe we are now in the last few weeks of school. As always, we have a lots going on this week, please read through the notices to make sure you know what is happening each day. Monday: Junior school Big Day In Your child needs their swimming togs, a named water gun, sunhat and your $5 for lunch if not already paid. All junior children can wear home clothes to school for our Fun day. Tuesday: Junior Tryathlon; 11:15 What to bring: bike/scooter, helmet, sneakers, togs. If Parents are available to help please contact your child's teacher. Wednesday / Thursday Normal school days. Friday: Year 0-2 Assembly; 2:05 Our children will be hosting our final school Assembly. Our Year 2 children will be organising the assembly with the support of our Year 0 and 1 children. Some children will be bring home ‘words’ that they will be saying at our assembly. Last Friday at assembly the Junior Kapa Haka group performed for the first time. They were amazing and this Friday they will perform at JPC which is very exciting for them. On Monday we have a Teacher Only Day. Remember if you require care for your child tomorrow you can ring Maryanne Roling from Glenholme Afterschool Care.
