Hope you are all enjoying your weekend and made the most of the fine weather when it was here!

Fun Netball for Kākano children

We have a lovely volunteer who is keen to share her skills and knowledge of Netball with our tamariki.  Every Tuesday there will be “Fun Netball” for all children who wish to participate on the Turf at lunchtime (weather permitting).


Collage Materials

Thankyou to those who have recycled boxes, bottle caps, yoghurt containers and brought them to school.  We still need more of these items as the children love creating with them.


Mini Marathon

Thanks to those of you who are keen to do this. Please remember to return your forms.


Feast Day of Mary MacKillop

This week we will be celebrating Saint Mary MacKillop who is a very important part of our school. Make sure to ask your children what they know about Mary MacKillop over the week. We will be having a school mass on Friday which all whānau are invited to.


Special Sunday School Mass

Next Sunday, the parish has a Māori Miha (Māori Mass) at 10.00 am followed by a procession carrying the Statue of Mother Mary around the Church and our school. All students and families are invited to join the procession with their parents at 11.00 am in front of St Mary’s Church.


Cake Stall this Wednesday

Week Ahead

Monday - normal school day

Tuesday - normal school day

Wednesday - Room 5 cake stall ($1 per item)

Thursday - normal school day

Friday - 9am school mass, rollerskating in the hall, sausage sizzle and juicy $1.50 each

Midweek update

 This week has gone so quickly with lots of excitement around the show. Today for the show tonight please have the children back between 5:30 and 6pm.  Please pick them up from Kakano any time after 7:15pm and before 7:30pm. Tomorrow for golden time the children could not decide on a PJ party, teddy bears picnic or hot chips, so we have decided to do all 3. The children can bring a teddy and their pajamas in their school bag (we will get changed after morning tea). Can they also bring a gold coin to go towards the hot chips.  They can also still order sausage sizzle and juicy or bring more lunch.  Have a wonderful holidays and enjoy your family time. Welcome to Kakano 6 for 2022 This blog will be your one-stop shop for weekly notices and class information.  I will also share what happened during the week in class with you through the week.  I always aim to have the weekly information blog published by 3pm on a Sunday.  It is essential to check this weekly.
